Edit OpenStreetMap on your tablet with the latest iD
By: Mikel Maron
With the newest release of the iD editor, you can contribute to OpenStreetMap intuitively from any tablet device. Try it now.
iD now handles all common touch interactions as you’d expect. Nearly everything in the app has been optimized for multi-touch, like navigating, selecting, editing, copying, pasting, and aligning. (Smartphone screen sizes aren’t fully supported… yet!)
This 2.18 release put together by iD’s maintainer Quincy Morgan represents a major haul of over six month work of new features and fixes. In addition to touch screen support, iD now supports editing tags on multiple features together, new data quality checks, a refreshed editor overlay (more on that soon) and much more. Check out the changelog for all the new features.
Congratulations and thanks to all the iD contributors! Check it out and contribute some data right now.
Maps feature data from Mapbox and OpenStreetMap and their data partners.
