Find your next camping getaway with Campspot

By Sean O’Leary

Planning a camping trip is never easy, especially during a global pandemic. Campspot is helping campers prioritize packing instead of planning by making over 100,000 campsites available for online booking.

Built with outdoor enthusiasts in mind, Campspot’s customizable search experience allows campers to quickly sort through available camping destinations based on location, type of site, and amenities available. A simplified booking process then helps campers finalize their vacation escape in just a few clicks.

Campspot chose to implement Mapbox within their search experience in order to provide their users with accurate search results on high-performant, customizable maps. Search autocomplete and geolocation via the Mapbox Geocoding API allows campers to select a regional preference for a campsite, and available locations are then displayed on an interactive map. Campspot utilized Mapbox Studio to create a custom map style with a rustic color palette that highlights parks and forests.

With months of warm weather still ahead of us, we’re looking forward to helping Campspot connect travelers with campsites all across the United States.

“Our priority is to ensure that our customers have the best booking experience by successfully finding their next Campspot. By providing them with tools powered by Mapbox, conveniently located on our website, we make it easy for them to plan and prepare for their trip.”

- Caleb Hartung, Campspot CEO
