Tracking conversations in OpenStreetMap

--

By Sanjay Bhangar

Mapbox contributes extensively to OpenStreetMap, and frequently interacts with the OpenStreetMap community through comments on changesets and notes on the map. We wanted a way, outside of email notifications, to keep track of these conversations and respond promptly. We built OSM Comments to let anyone search and filter through comments and notes.

OSM Comments is powered by an API which consumes OpenStreetMap feeds and the daily archive of notes. The API lets you filter by username, date, status and bounding box. It defaults to only showing conversations that involve our team. However, you can alter the filters:

You can search for your own username

This is still a work in progress. Find me on Twitter if you have any questions. If you’d like to contribute head over to OSM Comments on GitHub.
